What are the steps to be taken in realizing my project?

The first step is to come to your home and measure the area where the new cabinets are going to be realized. After getting an idea of your wish list we will make a plan view of the design and possibilities in the area. We will get you a detailed proposal, based on the design. After we agree on the price and design, we will generate detailed shop drawings of your project. We will change the shop drawings as many times as it takes so you know what you are getting and we know what to build. After the shop drawings are finalized and signed off, we will start building the cabinets in our shop.

Does my choice of wood make a big difference in price?

We tell our customers to design their project around the preferred choice of wood rather than the cost of the wood. We found that the difference in an "expensive" wood and a more affordable" wood species is not that much. We are glad to give you a comparison between the different choices of wood and how that would affect your specific project

Is custom built cabinetry more expensive than pre-fab cabinets?

Custom cabinetry is more expensive than of the shelf cabinets. If you compare the high end pre-fab cabinets to our custom cabinets, the price difference is generally about 15 to 20% higher for the custom cabinets. The key to it is compare apples to apples.

What is the difference between pre-fab cabinets and custom cabinets?

Pre-fab cabinets are mass produced cabinets and pieces in limited colors and styles. Most pre-fab cabinets are only available in certain widths and depths. Custom cabinetry is produced for your specific project. The styles and colors are virtualy limitless. We will build the cabinets to "fit" the space perfect, instead of using fillers to make it fit. You also buy direct from the manufacturer, so there is no middleman mark-ups. The best way to compare the price between custom cabinetry and pre-fab cabinetry is to let us make you a proposal, free of charge, and that way you have a honest comparison.
